May 25th

So, I had to say good bye to Elder Potter kind of surprisingly this week. My new comp's name is elder allen. He is also from AZ.
The best part of my week was definitely Sunday. We had 5 investigators at church. 2 of them were Cristina and Marina (the two girls on date to be baptized). So they should be getting baptized this Saturday! So exciting! I'll really be praying hard that it works out. The other three was this family that me and elder potter found and had been teaching for like 2 or 3 weeks. They are really cool and they finally came to church! I was so happy to see them there. And happy that the service went well. We had really good talks given. They seem to really be progressing and coming along. Bill, the dad of the family, will have a few Word of Wisdom things to overcome. But I KNOW that it can be done through Christ! Sunday, I also gave a blessing to a guy, named Mike whose recently come back to activity in the last 5 or 6 months to help him quit chewing tobacco. That was the first day. He was really excited and ready to quit! It was really awesome. We're going to be calling or texting him everynight to follow up about how's it going. But yeah, that's all I got for this week, and I hope everyone has an awesome week! Remember to recognize God's hand in all of your lives. Because I know he plays an active role in each one of your lives. Love you guys so much!-Elder McGeezy

Another Week

This week was alright. The kids we have on date didn't come to church and neither did the other family that we're teaching. Both of those we got very solid "yes's" to coming to church. So that was a bummer. But just gotta keep on tryin'. It'll all work out. But nothing amazing really happened this week. It rained A LOT. But we kept on working to find people who are ready to hear the restored gospel. Now that I think about it one thing cool we did is work/volunteer at this fundraiser event. It was a walk with a bunch of booths and stuff. It was for this condition called Angelman Syndrome, it's like on on the spectrum of autism. But a lot of other missionaries worked it too so it was really fun. They had this worldly music that I haven't heard in practically 9 months playing on the over-com / speakers or whatever. I couldn't help myself but dance and sing-a-long a little bit. But it's all good in the hood. I hope you guys have a great week! Love ya!

A Week in My Life

Hello Everyone! I hope all the women had a fabulous Mother's Day, where all there dreams came true. It was super, mega, ultra, totally awesome to skype with the fam! That made my week! I love my family so much! But this week was good! The two girls we have on-date to be baptized came to church yesterday! So that was way cool! They were like 5 or 10 minutes late, so we were all bummed they weren't gunna show up but when they walked in the chapel we were SO happy! I've actually had a lot of good BBQ, finally here in Kansas, since I've been in Wichita. We have a cool guy named Bill, along with his family that we're teaching. They are super cool, but they didn't come to church... :( But they have a daughter who graduated high school this weekend so I think they probably were either out late or have family in town. Something funny that happened the other night is that...Well like a few days ago we were walking down the street and started talking to this couple outside on their driveway and they seemed interested although we didn't really teach much. But they were gunna head out in a few minutes so they said we could stop by another time. So then, just the other night, it was like 8:00 pm and we didn't have any appointments or nothing. And we both thought of this couple. So went went by there and knocked on the door and the mom answered and was like, " Oh, Hey Guys! We're actually having family game night right now but you can come on in!'. So, we didn't argue and we went on in and they insisted we joined them in a game of dominoes. So, we didn't argue and we played a game of dominoes. And it was super fun cause they've got like 4 kids and we were all just jokin' around right away and they were just treatin' us like family or something. It was hilarious and awesome all at the same time! But the really cool part is that the dad brought up that he had read the pamphlet we had left the first time.So just throughout casual conversation throughout the game we were able to teach pretty much the whole Message of the Restoration while playing dominoes. We were there for kind of a while but they gladly accepted Book of Mormon's and insisted we come back again as we were leaving. They love the Lord and I'm super excited about continuing to teach them. But, hey! I love you all and hope you have a most marvelous week! :)

OH! I don't know how I forgot but there were some Tornadoes really close to where I'm at this past week as well. Like to a point where the sirens went off and we had to go in the basement of a close-by members house. Here's a pic that another member got. Purty Sweet!

To my love ones...

So this week was similar to last week in a lot of aspects. Not a lot of the people followed through with the appointments we had made with them. Not even going to lie I actually got quite discouraged. hahaWe hadn't had any one on date to be baptized since I got to Wichita two or three weeks ago. And I wanted to blame this area so, so bad! But I knew better and that their are lots of people in my area who are prepared and ready to hear the unique and Christ-Centered message that we share. So anyways, I promise I'm getting to the happy part! hahaSo after a long week of not to much to show for again besides a few potential investigators. On Sunday (Yesterday), the Lord provided us with 4 new solid investigators and we were able to put 2 teens from a part-member family on date to be baptized on May 16th! These miracles from Heavenly Father are definitely answers to a lot of prayers of me and Elda Potter. Super cool! Mark 10:27 "...For with God, all things are possible."Definitely know that to be true!
I love you all, and hope you have an amazing week! :)

Last P-Day we went deep into the woods with some Elders and made a fort...so that's pretty neat.

Good Ole' Kansas!

Missionary Life

Hello Everybody!
This week was rough. We worked super duper hard. But the fruits of our labors seemed to be very little as we went on throughout the week. It was definitely a humbling week for me for sure. I just came from an area where we were seeing a ton of success and me and my companion were teaching REALLY well together! So the Lord sent me here to humble me a little bit a guess. But yesterday as I was sitting and thinking about the week and looking through my planner, I realized we actually have quite a bit of return appointments set-up for this week with potential investigators. So I will be praying super hard those work out and that we can help all of those souls Come Unto Christ by being baptized into his church. I know that we are going to see so many miracles this week because with God all things are possible!
Elder Potter is one hard worker which is great!
Yesterday we gave our talks in sacrament meeting. That went well, a lot of people really liked my talk, so that's good. I felt like it would've been better if didn't say "um" and "like" as much though...whateva. haha
But I really love you guys and I hope you have a fabulous week! I'm super stoked for Mother's Day to be able to skype again! :)
Sincerely,
Elda McGeezy
