Hellooooo

Hellooooo Errbody!
This week was pretty sweet! We had Bill and his Fam come to church and two less active members we been working with come to church as well. Super awesome! Getting people to church, is absolutely KEY to their progression for many reasons. But we had a SICK miracle this week that started off as a tragedy. It's regarding Bill and his Word of Wisdom struggles. So we had this lesson planned on Thursday night with Bill and Claudia but we were going to do it at the church building this time instead of their house, mostly because we wanted to show them the baptismal font. Cause they've been to church twice before but haven't seen the font yet so we thought we'd have a lesson at the church and show them the font. So anyways, Thursday morning we call Claudia to see if it's still good and she's like, "Well, I'll have to get back to you boys cause I'm actually going to the hospital right now to meet Bill cause he left work cause he was in a lot of pain". So we were worried about him. So after we get off the phone we say a prayer for Bill and go on with our day. Later on Claudia calls us and tells us that she'll still come to the lesson at the church tonight, but she'll be by herself. Well, at the church we had an awesome, and spiritual experience with Claudia. And she told us that Bill was fine but that he was passing a kidney stone. She also told us that the doctor told him that he had to stop drinking coffee and alcohol altogether. And she said when the doc said that, that Bill immediately looked at Her and thought of us and that he took it as a sign. WHOA! So that was crazy. I have really thought about why God did that for him. Cause we kept telling Bill that he wasn't going to receive a spiritual witness that the Word of Wisdom is from God, truly modern revelation, until he took a step into the dark in faith and started to live it and then he would see the blessings and get his witness. Because he has a testimony, I know he does. But he was pretty stubborn about the word of wisdom. But anyways, I thought of Jonah in the Old Testament and how it took being swallowed by a big fish for his will to be aligned with God's will and to go to the city and preach. God won't ever take away our agency but he's definitely down to give us a big push if that's what it takes. I'm really excited for all the blessings God has in store for Bill and his family. I really have grown to love them. I love all you guys so much too, and hope you have a great week! - Elder McGee

Independence Day

Hey Fam and Friends!
I hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying their Summer. So this week was not as successful for us. A LOT of appointments were either no shows or were cancelled. There are still a lot of good things happening in this area though, we've definitely got progressing investigators whom are moving towards baptism. We just got to continue working hard AND smart as well as praying like an agent so we can see more miracles this week. But Independence Day was fun. We BBQ'd with a Fam in the ward and saw fireworks and stuff. Kansas goes hard on 4th of July, let me tell ya. Anybody can buy any kind of firework so it's crazy, no joke like a war zone. But I was just thinking how incredibly blessed we are to live in this country, and have the freedoms that we have. I'm also so grateful for those who have given their time, talents, and even their lives for this country. They truly gave everything "to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion" (Alma 43:47) as the Nephites did when at war against the Lamanites. There are definitely countries that got it much worse. That's definitely something to ponder. But yeah, have a great week and keep loving life. Peace!- Elda McGeezy

6/29/15

Hellooooo Everybody! I hope everyone is just so super happy and enjoying life!
This week was a really week good! We definitely saw some miracles. And we were able to meet a lot of new people. Bill and his family didn't come to church this week because of something. That was a bummer. But they are still on date to be baptized, so that's good. Something cool that happened with them is when we were at Bill's this last Thursday we had a member present and we had an in depth lesson about the priesthood. Bill actually let us give him a blessing at the end for comfort, counsel, and strength to overcome the word of wisdom things. It was way cool! I've definitely seen miracles happen when I've offered to give my investigators a blessing by the laying on of hands, on my mission. I testify the power of the priesthood is REAL. But ya, we had a lot of really cool and spiritual experiences this week. I'm sure you'll hear more about the peeps we met this week later on. But I love working with Elder Loumeau! He's eager to learn and ready to work! He's from San Diego and he's been out 3 months, so he's just out of training. But he's super chill and cool. I hope you guys are all doing well and hope you have a marvelous week! - Elder McGeezy

Hey Fam and Friends!

This week was good. Bill and his family came to church yesterday so that was awesome! And on Saturday they came to a BBQ at a park which was a ward activity. The ward was good about fellowshipping them. I feel really good about this family. On Wednesday is transfers and this morning we found out what's going on. My new companion is going to be someone named Elder Laumaeu. I've asked some missionaries if they know him and nobody does so I'm assuming he hasn't been out very long. But I'll let ya know next week I guess. Last P-Day we went to the coolest petting zoo ever! It was LEGIT! I fed a giraffe and a Lemur. So that was pretty neat. We also got IPads this week. They are really nice and convenient for studies. And they are nice for showing video clips as well. But, I hope all had a marvelous Father's Day! Have an awesome week! Love, - Elda McGee

Here is Kansas

Hello Family & Friends! It was a good week. We were able to find some really cool potential investigators.
Marina and Christina were baptized on Saturday which was super cool. They live with their grandma who takes care of them along with 4 of her other grandchildren. So I look up to their grandma a lot. They were the last of her grandkids to be baptized because Marina and Christina's parents didn't give Naomi (The grandma) permission for a long time. But their parents finally softened their hearts. So Naomi was crying at the baptism and gave the coolest prayer. Such a great family. I had the privilege of being able to baptize them. Yesterday, Elder Allen confirmed them in sacrament meeting. But yeah, I don't have a ton of time this week but I promise to have a good letter for ya guys next week! Love ya!
